A New Year, the Same Mission: A Message from Nicole Johnson

As we step into 2026, I want to speak plainly — the way I try to in everything I do.

Africa Well exists because preventable deaths caused by poverty and unaffordability are not inevitable. They are a choice that systems have made. And we are in the business of making different choices.

This work began for me long before Africa Well had a name. As a Registered Nurse, I spent years in acute healthcare settings watching what quality care could do for people. And I spent years thinking about the communities where that quality of care simply didn't exist — not because it was impossible, but because no one had made it a priority.

That is what drives every outreach, every scholarship, every mobile clinic, every food package we deliver. Not charity in the passive sense. Action rooted in the belief that every person on this continent deserves what I help provide in a hospital in the United Kingdom.

2026 is a year to go further. We have more countries to reach, more communities waiting, more problems we now know how to solve.
